Keep on going...

today i was informed tat you got scolded in d public again last week.

When i was reading d msg, many thoughts appeared on my mind...

Was tat true tat u're scolded... aGAIN?? And what did (some of )you do? Isit u're busy talking wif ya friends n not knowing wat's happening? Or isit something else???...

I was really bothered n started wonder...

Some memories flush back...

During mid february, i brought the 10-12 student leaders to CCA Branch to learn the steps&u're supposed to teach the fellow students. Before u could teach others,u're already scolded by mr.andrew in front of d others. When u're busy playing wif d scarf,i remembered i've scolded u&d only teacher who danced wif u so as to make sure you danced properly. But i understood why mr.andrew had to scold u-cos u're not as good compared to others. It's angry to see some of you're not serious.

And then we started to ve our very own&first training in sch conducted by d student leaders during March Holiday. Attendance was below expectation; student leaders did not really know how to teach -"like that like that like that ... " ; some of you didn't pay attention to the S.L. SO FRUSTRATING!!! Somehow I really wondered - how come eventually I'm stil the one to demonstrate to the students?!?!? Sigh...

We went for the very 1st rehearsal at Amoy Quee Camp ... many uncertainties... Sigh... scolding... Is it you don't understand the instructions? Or not enough practices? Perhaps not enough practices..

Rehearsal after rehearsal ... finally it's in May... Something happened to me in Mid May and I was absent from school for about 2 weeks. I was glad that there're some teachers bringing you there for trainings. But what happened during the trainings?

Honestly, I wish that I don't have to petrol around while you're dancing. It looks weird when other sch' teachers were not walking around to check on their studednts, but I was doing that! I don't know how you feel. Does it mean that when I walk around then you will do better? If no one is watching you, then you anyhow swing?!??!?!

I know you're one of the youngest participants, does it mean that you're the worst ? I asked myself again.

I tell myself - must have faith in my students. Perhaps they need longer time to learn the steps and coordinate their legs, arms and eyes...

One day, I received a call from Mr.Andrew... We talked about you... He felt that you need more time to learn... He said something encouraging in the conversation..." THEY'RE IMPROVING... I can see that THEY'RE TRYING".

Feel a sense of relief and happy immediately... :) :) :)

AFter that we'd rehearsals in Amoy Quee Camp, Kranji Camp and Floating Platform...

Finally, I got the chance to watch NDP show live! It's on 4 July... I was so excited and couldn't wait to run to the Platform asap to get the good seats... I kept on telling my husband and mom that we must go up up up at the seat...

Eventually, we're seating in the middle of the Blue Sector cos the users arranged.

Nonethless, I was very anxious, excited to watch YOU on the stage.

And interestingly, I also received alot of SMSes from you - "Cher, where do you sit? Cannot see you le...", "what shirt are you wearing? Which row? Where r u?", "Have you reach? Why so late?", " Have you reach?", "Is Miss Low/ Miss Ong coming?" "Did Mdm Goh go with you?" ... etc etc etc...

I'm happy and touched to receive your sms and you're eager to see me although I've scolded you in the past (and up till now!).

The show started... Everyone was so excited... I was so excited too, just like the little kids seated behind me... The experience of seating at the Platform is so different from watching you dancing at the backstage... I couldn't feel the atmosphere during the morning rehearsal. But once at night... I could feel the excitement and really impressed by the show - from the beginning till the end. While everyone was cheering, I felt very happy... cos they're cheering for you.

And of course how could I forget when you're waving at me while you're still at the stage?

To all my dear students, you've shown signs of improvement. It's good and encouraging to you and me. It shows that your effort is recognised by others. It shows that you're capable of doing correctly.

Showing improvement is not good enough. You're performing in front of live audience, ministers, and the audience in front of TV. It means your family, friends, teachers, relatives, strangers are watching you. Some of you may think that you've TRIED your best.

You need to DO YOUR BEST, not try your best.

Smile your best
Dance your best
Run your best
Sing your best!
Line up properly to the best!!!

I need all of you to continue giving your best in the upcoming NE shows, NDP Preview and Actualy Day. Many people keep asking me for tickets to watch the performance. They want to watch because they know it's going to be GOOD (and goodie bags) and spectacular!

So from now onwards, I need you to DO YOUR BEST, LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS, BEHAVE YOURSELF IN THE PUBLIC.

Keep up the good work. REst early every night. Stay away from friendster/ MSN/ facebook/blogs( but you cannot stay away from THIS blog)/twitter/Maple or other pc games... you have little time left - to spread among your studies, CCAs , family and of course NDP.

See you in school tomorrow.

Take care.

Sleep tight.

Cheers,
mdm juliana
